Say it Loud; Say it Proud: Reformation!

Pope Benedict XVI recently declared that non-Catholic, Christian churches / denominations are either defective or not true churches, i.e., the Roman Catholic Church provides the only true path to salvation.

I'm hear to accept and give thanks for the fact that I'm apparently not in the "approved" church! I'm here to say it loud and proud that I am a 5-Sola Child of the Reformation! I'm so thankful that my salvation is sure, based on the finished work and blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and is not dependent on the proclamation of a man, or my membership in some, "correct," church.

Sorry, Pope.

RX: Just What The Doctor Ordered

Looking for your daily dose of spiritual "medicine" from The Doctor? Well, you've come to the right place.

I've added a new on-line devotional to my sidebar collection of free on-line daily devotions. It's Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones' First Book of Daily Readings.

I encourage you to add this short, yet powerful, devotional to your daily readings, coupling it with such rich teachings as:

* Morning & Evening, by Charles H. Spurgeon (On-line)
* Morning, and Evening Thoughts, by Octavius Winslow (On-line)
* My Utmost for His Highest, by Oswald Chambers (On-line)
* The Imitation of Christ, by Thomas à Kempis (On-line)
* The One Year Bible (ESV) (On-line)
* How Great Thou Art: 365 Reasons Why God is Awesome (Book)
* The Valley of Vision (Book)
* Training Hearts, Teaching Minds (Book)

Another collection of daily devotional readings that is still in print, is The Doctor's, Walking with God Day by Day.

And while I'm at it, please allow me to also draw your attention to the free, on-line daily devotional readings of A.W. Tozer.
